Office of the Bishop
The District operates under the management and administration of the Office of the Bishop for smooth running of its affairs. This is executed through observance of the constitution and bye-laws of the Methodist Church In Africa.
The Office consists of:
• District Bishop
• District Secretary
• District Treasurer
• District Statistical Secretary
District Bishop
The District Bishop is the head of the District and reports to the Connexion of the Methodist Church In Africa under the Presiding Bishop of the Church. He is responsible to ensure that the mandate of God’s work is fulfilled within the District. This is done through presiding in the District synods and Bishop’s executive meetings. He/she does an oversight on the status of the circuits and auxillaries, whereby he/she get involved only when such need arises.
The current District Bishop is Rev NJ Ramokhoase, who had been elected into this office since 2010 to date.
District Secretary
The District Secretary is an administrator of the District. He/she liase with the District Bishop in organizing and planning key District gatherings. He/she complies with the notice requirements through timely sending relevant circulars to members, circuits and auxillaries. He/she is expected to report to the Synod on the state of the District affairs. She does compile letters addressed outside the District and take minutes in proceedings of the District for record purposes.
The current District Secretary is Rev RN Mache, elected in the year 2022.
District Treasurer
The District treasurer is the overseer of all the monetary affairs of the District. He/she is responsible for safe book keeping involving the record of cash flow, operational expenses and banking. He/she comes up with projected budget based on records pertaining to above. He/she is expected to present a report to the Synod on the Financial status of the District. He/she is responsible to make sure that the District financial obligations to the Connexional are paid.
The current District Treasurer is Bro S Pule, elected in the year 2022.
Statistical Secretary
The District Statistical Secretary reports the data on the membership profile in the District. The data is received from all circuits and departments. He/she will then analyse, interpret it and report to the Synod with the aim of gauging the strength of the District and also forming a basis of making well-informed decisions for the progress of the church.
The current District Secretary is Rev MC Nchupetsang, appointed at 2022 MCA Conference.
