The Young Peoples’ Department is a movement of Sunday School, MCA Guild and Church Choir. The sub-departments operate under guidance of the constitution. The motto of this department, which is national in our Church, not limited to the District, being,”One way, One heart”. Jeremiah 32:39. A brief overview of each sub-department is as follows:

1. Sunday School
This is a child ministry focusing on grooming children to be rooted into Christian Faith and to raise them as God fearing servants of the Kingdom. This is in line with the scripture, ”Lesang bana ba tle gonna, gonne mmuso wa Magodimo ke wa bone.”

Matthews 19:14.

The District Sunday School coordinator is on the lead in ensuring that necessary activities including camps and bible-based educational programs are in place to nurture our children.

2. The MCA Guild
The sub-department is of youth members who are full members of the Methodist Church In Africa. Its role is to bring young people into fellowship with a vision of preserving and growing future of the Church. This is achieved through application of the 4C’s which forms the integral fabric of this sub-department.

The 4C’s are as follows:

1. Consecration: To feed souls with spiritual activities needed for that.
2. Comradeship: To promote formation of healthy social ties within the church.
3. Creativity / Culture: To embrace our identity and roots while remaining
committed to Christ.
4. Christian service / Community development: To partake in extending a
helping hand to the needy. Lifting each other for the betterment of human
society.

3. Church Choir

This is a music ministry within the YPD and Church. The ministry calls people to praise and worship the Lord by leading in various services including Sunday Church services, funerals and others with dignity. The District Church coordinator is responsible for keeping this ministry alive by working hand in hand with Circuits’ coordinators and putting in place activities / events like choir competitions and festivals.
