The Young Meng Prayer Union (YMPU) also well known as “Makau a thapelo”, are the department of young men, in the MCA church. They are predominantly in South Africa, Lesotho and Botswana. YMPU focuses on the spiritual and social development of young men within the church and community at large. The union further emphasizes Christian values, leadership, and service within the church.

Makau a thapelo plays an important role in supporting the church’s mission, engaging in outreach programs, and contributing to various church activities such as worship, education, and community service. They are often involved in mentoring, promoting moral integrity, and encouraging the youth to live according to Christian principles. Their role is crucial in strengthening the church by fostering a sense of responsibility, unity, and faith among the younger male members.
